❗️Israel says Hamas may be operating fiber-optic drones in Gaza

Israel believes Hamas may be using fiber-optic drones in the Gaza Strip, resembling the drones employed by Lebanon's Hezbollah in the Upper Galilee to carry out attacks, a Southern Command officer told Walla.

“We need to be prepared for a scenario involving the use of gliders (parachute drones) and rocket barrages,” the officer said.

The officer noted, however, that the military currently sees no signs of escalation and has not identified any immediate plans by Hamas to deploy such capabilities against Israel or its forces.

The military also acknowledged that a comprehensive solution for intercepting fiber-optic drones has yet to be developed.
