❗️Greek national charged in UK over alleged Iran intelligence links

A Greek citizen has been charged with assisting a foreign intelligence service, believed to be linked to Iran, in connection with the targeting of a journalist working for the London-based broadcaster Iran International, British police said on Friday.

Counter-terrorism officers said 46-year-old Ioannis Aidinidis, who lives in Munich, Germany, was arrested on 16 May and charged under the UK’s National Security Act.

Aidinidis is scheduled to appear later on Friday at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

Police said the allegations are understood to involve Iran and relate to the targeting of a UK-based journalist working for Iran International.
