🇺🇸⚡️ — President Trump will headline the opening ceremony of the “Great American State Fair” on the National Mall next month after several scheduled performers withdrew over the event’s ties to him, WaPo reports.

The fair is being organized by Freedom 250, a group created by Trump through executive order to plan events marking America’s 250th anniversary.

Artists including Martina McBride and Bret Michaels canceled appearances after saying they were unaware of the organization’s connection to Trump.

Following the withdrawals, Trump joked on Truth Social that performers were getting “the yips” about appearing and suggested he would headline the event himself. Freedom 250 adviser Danielle Alvarez later confirmed Trump will open the fair on June 24 as part of a multi-day celebration of the U.S. semiquincentennial.
