When you have confusion, it is hard to expect elements who want to defect to our side not to hesitate because they're not sure how committed you are to putting an end to this regime.
If the defectors know that there is going to be an imminent collapse, that facilitates the defection and emboldens the people.
By regime change, I mean complete change, not partial change. This regime will never be able to adapt itself to an honest partner. You cannot trust them.
