In a historic first since its inception in 1965, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani boycotted the annual Israel Day Parade held along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
The event was attended by Democratic Party leaders and tens of thousands of pro-Israel supporters, amid growing international condemnations of the genocide in the Gaza Strip and increasing divisions within the United States over support for the apartheid regime of Israel.
