The United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, announced that Lebanon witnessed the killing or injury of around 14 children every 24 hours over the past week, amid ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement.
According to the organization, a total of 77 children were killed or injured during the past seven days, while the total number of children killed since the truce began in April has risen to 55, in addition to 212 others who were injured.
UNICEF spokesperson Ricardo Pires described these figures as shocking and horrific, warning of the severe humanitarian consequences facing Lebanese children amid continued shelling and displacement.
