Israeli occupation authorities have completely closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron until further notice, in a new move that further restricts Palestinian worshippers’ access to Islamic holy sites in the West Bank.
The decision comes after a series of strict security measures in the area surrounding the mosque, where Palestinians have been prevented from entering or their access has been significantly reduced.
The municipality of Hebron has also been stripped of its authority to maintain and manage the mosque, with control transferred to an Israeli administration.
