NEW | NYT: Proposed Iran deal includes $300 billion fund after war devastation
One of the most significant provisions in the emerging US-Iran peace framework is a proposed $300 billion fund for Iran, according to The New York Times.
Iran reportedly presented the proposal as compensation for the massive destruction caused by the US-Israeli war, with estimates of damages ranging from $300 billion to $1 trillion.
Washington, however, is said to be reframing the initiative as an international “investment fund” rather than reparations.
The report adds that the idea was promoted by Trump advisers Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner as part of broader efforts to secure an agreement with Tehran after months of war and regional instability.
