🚨🇮🇱 New investigation reveals Israel's war on rescue workers in Lebanon
At least 121 paramedics and first responders have been killed and 223 more wounded by Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon since March 2, an investigation by the National shows.
🔴 On March 16, Israel struck a water facility north of the Litani River, killing two paramedics, Ali Halani and Mahdi Rihan
🔴 On March 24, two young paramedics Joud Suleiman, 16, and Ali Jaber, 23, died in a direct Israeli strike while distributing food aid
🔴 May 12 saw the IDF killing paramedics Hussein Jaber and Ahmed Noura as they rushed to aid a wounded civilian injured in an earlier bombing
🔴 “The sacrifice of our colleagues gives us the strength to continue. We will not abandon our duty," Jaber’s colleague Hussein Dakduk pledged.
These are just several sad examples of paramedics being killed by the Israeli army which argues that it “doesn’t target medical teams as such, but only military objectives, in accordance with international law”
But in each cases The National found that “all paramedics were clearly identified as rescuers and there was no indication of immediate military threats that would justify the strikes”.
🤔 What “international law” is the IDF talking about?
