The presidential elections in Colombia: a second round will be held. The right-wing candidate is in the lead. The current president refuses to accept the results.

According to the count of more than 99% of the votes, the right-wing candidate Abelardo de la Esperialla received 43.74% of the votes.

Iván Castro, the left-wing candidate and successor to the incumbent president Gustavo Petro, came in second with 40.9% of the votes.

The center-right candidate, Paloma Lacerna, came in third with about 7%.

Ahead of the second round, which will take place on June 21, since no one achieved more than 50%, Paloma announced her support for Esperialla.

##
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and Argentine President Javier Milei rushed to congratulate Esperialla on his victory in the first round.

The one who did not accept the matter was the incumbent president of Colombia, the left-liberal and staunchly anti-Israel Gustavo Petro, who demanded a recount of 800,000 votes that he claims were counted by a private company.

The gap between the two leading candidates, who are both going to the second round anyway, is about 700,000 votes.
