According to a release from the Syrian Presidential Office, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa spoke with U.S. President Donald J. Trump today. The two leaders discussed the increasing role that Syria is expected to play economically in the local region and also increased bilateral cooperation between the U.S. and Syria. As nations around the globe continue to reintegrate Syria into global economic frameworks, President al-Sharaa is set to attend the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie, France next month.
