Estonia may be forced to introduce mandatory military conscription for women by 2040, as male birth rates have collapsed from 15,000 boys born annually to just 4,000–5,000.
The head of Estonia's Defense Resources Agency says the country won't be able to fill its 4,100 annual conscription slots with men alone — calling mandatory female conscription a question of "when, not if."
