US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held talks with both Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation, according to a US official cited by Reuters.

The official said Rubio discussed the diplomatic track between the two sides amid continued tensions along the occupied Lebanese-Palestinian border area and growing concerns over a broader escalation.

According to Reuters, Rubio also proposed that the Resistance halt all attacks against "Israel" in exchange for the Israeli occupation refraining from escalating military operations in Beirut.

The reported proposal comes as exchanges of fire continue despite the ceasefire agreement reached earlier this year, with the Israeli occupation carrying out repeated attacks on Lebanese territory, flagrantly violating the truce agreed upon in April.
