After months of US-Israeli war on Iran and Lebanon, as well as military pressure and escalating threats, Israeli media are now openly assessing the outcome.

Israeli newspaper Maariv admitted that "Iran has not been defeated… Hezbollah has not collapsed… and Israel failed to achieve its objectives," adding that "Israel is once again on the verge of missing an opportunity."

A senior Israeli officer conceded, "If the Iranian regime remains in place and retains its enriched uranium, then we have achieved none of the war’s goals."

The newspaper further noted that the war has not only failed to deliver decisive results but, in its words, "there is only one winner in this war and it appears to be neither the United States nor Israel."
