"The war [on Lebanon] will have to end, whether Netanyahu, this bloodthirsty Prime Minister of the Israeli regime, wants it or not. It will have to end," Professor Mohammad Marandi affirmed during an interview for Al Mayadeen.

Linking it to the Strait of Hormuz, Marandi stated, "Without it... none of these ships will be able to leave through the Strait of Hormuz except for those ships that we see that Iran allows on a daily basis."

Releasing Iran's frozen assets is another issue that must be met for a deal with the United States to take place, according to the Iranian professor.

"Half of those assets have to be delivered to Iran immediately at the start," Marandi explained, adding, "Iranian exports, energy exports, the sanctions on them have to be waived for these two months."

He further stressed that "without that, no agreement. And Iran will have control of the Strait of Hormuz."
