The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon announced in its fourth statement of the day that its fighters carried out an ambush early Saturday, May 30, 2026, targeting a combined Israeli force that was attempting to advance toward the eastern outskirts of al-Ghandouriyeh in southern Lebanon.
The Resistance said its units had been closely monitoring the movement of the force before detonating explosive devices against it and simultaneously targeting it with artillery shells and rocket fire.
According to the statement, the engagement forced the troops to evacuate their casualties under heavy smoke cover, after which Israeli occupation forces responded by shelling the surrounding area and carrying out airstrikes.
As in every statement, the Resistance affirmed that the operation was conducted in defense of Lebanon and its people and in response to "Israel's" violations of the ceasefire and continued attacks on southern Lebanese villages, which have resulted in civilian martyrdom and injuries.
