There is no truth to the recent claims made by the US president regarding a potential agreement with Iran, Fars News Agency reported, citing informed sources.
The sources said that Trump’s statements are a mixture of “facts and lies” and constitute an attempt to project “a false victory and manufacture an illusory triumph,” adding that it has become clear to almost everyone that these claims lack any credibility.
Debunking Trump’s claims, the sources explained that the US president alleged Iran is obligated to open the Strait of Hormuz without collecting fees; however, the text of the agreement contains no such provision whatsoever.
Iran confirmed that it will reopen the Strait based on its pre-established arrangements once the blockade is lifted, the sources said, adding that Iranian arrangements include monitoring and inspecting vessels, as well as providing services and ensuring protection and security.
