A report by the Wall Street Journal highlighted the growing Israeli concerns about the Lebanese Resistance's FPV drones.
According to the WSJ, analysts say Hezbollah is “racking up successful hits” by exploiting Israeli vulnerabilities, while "Israel" failed to learn from mistakes made in the war in Ukraine. Samuel Bendett, an advisor with CNA’s Russia studies program, noted that militant drone operators gain experience with every mission, regardless of outcome, drawing a parallel with battlefield learning in Ukraine.
Former Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces officer Dmytro Putiata described the footage of Hezbollah operations as alarming, questioning how such tactics could still be overlooked despite extensive experience from the Ukraine war.
An Israeli soldier stationed in Lebanon, speaking to the Wall Street Journal, said Hezbollah has recently begun deploying drones at night after previously operating mainly during daylight hours. He added that troops have been left without clear countermeasures beyond basic protective steps, such as covering equipment with nets.
The soldier added that troops have been instructed to remain indoors for safety, while experts warn that even indoor positions may not be fully secure if drones carrying larger explosives are used.
